A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.

Our Master Esthetician has been trained in light to medium depth peels. Depending on the clients needs she may use TCA (Trichloracetic Acid) Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid or a Salicylic Acid.

After filling out a 1 page consent form, your appointment will consist of a Prep Cleansing, an UltraSonic Skin Scrubber, which is a feel good mist cleansing of the face. The Chemical Peel and an after highly concentrated Vitamin A, D, E Gel. You will receive after care instructions.

One of the most important things to remember after a chemical peel is to avoid picking, scrubbing or assisting the peel in any way. Treat the skin like you are trying to keep it on. The old dead skin that is about to peel off acts as a protective barrier. If you have caused the skin to peel off prematurely you are at increased risk for complications, including hyper-pigmentation. If you have assisted or accidentally removed the peeling skin prematurely, contact your skin health professional immediately.

You will receive the following after care instructions to  take home with you.
  • Gently cleanse your face twice a day with jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil or a gentle cleanser.
  • Please do not pick or pull your skin at any time after your peel.  It can cause scarring. Your skin will take about 4 to 7 days to completely peel depending on the strength of the peel or treatment you received. Receiving a body, chest or arm peel often takes longer (up to 3 weeks).
  • Please do not exfoliate using a cleansing brush or any facial scrub or acid based products for two weeks.
  • Please do not use any products that contain AHA, Glycolic, Retin-A or any acne medication until your skin is finished peeling (usually 7 days and possibly longer).
  • Please keep your skin well hydrated by drinking at least three 8-ounce glasses of water per day, and moisturizing with a good moisturizer at night. If needed apply during the day. Your skin should never be so dry that it is cracking, or sore.
  • Finally, use SPF 30 or higher consistently throughout the day. Reapply, reapply, reapply for this will limit your skin from burning in the sun (even when it’s cloudy out or when sitting by a window) and will minimize the chances of more sun damage and discoloration.
  • Please refrain from waxing, tanning, or using sunbeds for three weeks.
  • Avoid working out and sweating for at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours.
  • If your skin becomes itchy at any time, you may use a 1% hydrocortisone cream (any brand).
  • Please call with any questions or concerns.
  • If desperate a light foundation makeup for coverage may be used, but it is not preferred for optimal results.
